Fairy Gazette

I recently had the privilege to interview the famous Bilbo Baggins about his recent adventure with the dwarves and Gandalf. when Bilbo was able to take time out of his busy lifestyle of sitting and relaxing comfortably in his home to take to me he was very grounded for having gone through so much.  Mr. Baggins didn't have much time, because he had cakes in the oven, so I was only able to ask him three questions.  My first question involved Bilbo and his first impressions of the dwarves and Gandalf.  Bilbo told me that when Gandalf first appeared to him that beautiful day and divulged who he was, Bilbo became curious as to his business so near to Bilbo's home.  Then when Gandalf showed up at his door with all those dwarves, Bilbo was very indignant and more than a little angry for him being imposed upon in such a manner.  When Bilbo first met the dwarves he was a little overwhelmed because they all wanted something from him, mostly food, and always made such a mess.  He even remembers that in the very beginning he couldn't keep all their names straight, as Bilbo's adventure progressed, he grew close to all of is little group and eventually they felt just like family to him.

The next question i asked Bilbo was if he thought he would ever consider going on another adventure like his first one.  To this Bilbo responded that while he might consider smaller adventures, he didn't think another large adventure was in his future.  "I just don't think I have another big adventure in me.  I might be able to see myself going on small adventures to not so far away places, but that's about it.  I am quite happy sitting by my fire and blowing smoke rings, eating cakes, and loosening my belt," Mr. Baggins jokes.  Every once in a while Gandalf or one of the dwarves will drop by and we will reminisce about the great times we had and bring me news from the other across the mountains or boast about how well the dwarve's kingdom is doing.  "Just the memories of all our hardships is enough to tire me out for days, not that it takes much to tire me out," Bilbo laughs at himself good-heartedly.

Finally, Bilbo was able to squeeze in one more of my questions while his cakes were cooling.  My last question was if Bilbo ever looked back on his adventure and wished he had done anything else, or perhaps not done something.  "The only thing I wish I had done," Bilbo said, "was to fully appreciate just how privileged I was to be able to experience everything I did with my friends."  The famed hero also went on to add that perhaps he could have helped his friends more during the Goblin confrontation instead of hiding behind his ring's invisibility.  Although he did add that had he been more exposed he might not have been alive right now to be relaxing by the hearth.  After my enlightening interview with Mr. Bilbo Baggins, I can say that he is a wonderful hobbit and a bonus to society.  I feel I am better having known him.
